Commended to the Word: Equipping leaders for ministry impact … around the world

Final Frames, Part 8: Weighty Wisdom from Above

This teaching is part of the “Final Frames” series, a compilation of Bible studies Daniel taught in his final weeks as the Coastlands’ Senior Pastor in late-2006. The Scriptures shared in this series were pivotal in Daniel’s life and helped form his ministry.

Wisdom and authority go hand in hand in the spiritual realm; authority cannot be effective and build people up without godly insight. In this teaching, Daniel cites the prayer from Isaiah 50:4, “Lord, give me the tongue of a disciple, that I may know how to sustain the weary one with (just) a word.” Wealth, strength and smarts are hindrances to being used this way by the Lord. The gentle wisdom that leads to life comes from the Word of God, is proven by its deeds, and leads to an authority that does good for others just as good has been done for us.
