How Do Believers Relate to the Law?
We as believers sometimes get confused about commandments and promises. After all, God gives both to His people. However, commandments and promises are very different types of statements:
- God’s commandments govern our behavior. God’s promises pledge His behavior.
- Commandments are about “right and wrong.” Promises are about favor and blessing.
- Commandments specify what we’re supposed to do. Promises announce what God will do.
